Recruiter - Community College Opportunity Grant
Job Description
To recruit and enroll students who have been economically disadvantaged or historically underserved and under-represented.
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Recruit in economically disadvantaged or historically underserved and under-represented communities.
- Support students through initial inquiry, application through enrollment at the college.
- Cultivate leads and increase market share by delivering presentations at on and off campus events.
- Work collaboratively with on campus departments such as EOF, the Office of Multicultural Services and Activities and
- Financial Aid.
- Respond to applicant inquiries (phone, email, in person) and conduct outreach to applicants.
- Builds a network of relationships with local high schools, community centers, places of worship, local employers and
- community outreach programs.
- Evaluate and reports out on program activities to show impact on the community and enrollment.
- Assist with the management of student aides and Welcome Desk staff.
- Assists the Office of Testing Services with on-site testing events.
- Other duties as assigned.
SPECIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree Required
- Passionate about the mission of Bergen Community College and the Community College Opportunity Grant.
- Experience working with a diverse population.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Bi-lingual preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to travel to events and set up tables / spaces for recruitment initiatives as needed. Must be willing to attend events on the weekends/evenings as needed.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
- Annual Salary ranges from $50,000-$60,000 (Grant Funded)
- NJ Educators Health Plan with free Vision and Dental. NJ State Pension plan.
- 15 vacation days, 15 sick days, 4 personal days, 2 floating holidays, all designated holidays and 5 non- designated holidays a year.
