Overview

The laboratory of Dr. Robbie Majzner at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute is currently seeking an ambitious research technician to contribute to our innovative work on developing novel T-cell immunotherapies against pediatric solid tumors. Our approach involves utilizing cellular genetic engineering, flow cytometry, mouse models, and functional analyses, with the ultimate goal of designing new T cell receptors and conducting early phase clinical trials to test their efficacy.

The primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be to support the day-to-day operations and administration of the Majzner Laboratory. In addition to this role, they will have the opportunity to actively participate in scientific projects and act as a liaison with clinical trial groups.

The laboratory employs various techniques, including flow cytometry/fluorescence-activated cell sorting, immunological techniques and assays, working with mouse models, culturing primary cells, performing CRISPR/Cas9 experiments, cellular cloning, and CAR T-related design work. Therefore, previous experience with tissue culture is a required qualification, and any experience with mouse models, human patient samples, and imaging techniques would be highly desirable.

If you are an aspiring scientist looking to enhance your skills and knowledge, joining our multidisciplinary team could be the perfect opportunity for you. As part of our team, you can expect to have one-on-one meetings with Dr. Majzner, participate in weekly lab presentations, and engage in exciting collaborations within our fast-paced environment. There will be opportunities for authorship, inventorship, and personal career growth within the lab. Our team operates as a highly functional and independent unit, with each member taking ownership of their specific roles. Together, we strive to bridge the gap between mechanistic research and patient care.
