FACULTY COMPENSATION ANALYST
Job Description
Scope of Job
Provide advanced level consultation, guidance, and direction for faculty compensation to institutional leadership and stakeholders. Provides in-depth content expertise and project management in the design, development and/or implementation of faculty compensation programs, policies and practices.
Description of Duties
- Provides guidance and subject matter expertise during the faculty compensation and performance payment process.
- Provides guidance on creation of faculty salary ranges to Colleges and Schools.
- Builds and maintains dynamic models that will allow for regular refinement / analysis of faculty compensation plans, including various scenarios and plan changes.
- Manages and conducts provider specialty evaluations. Coordinates responses to compensation-related surveys. Coordinates multi-variant compensation equity evaluations.
- Works with Department and Divisional leadership on ad-hoc analyses designed to support discussions and decisions related to individual faculty compensation.
- Performs regular control analyses, ensuring accurate faculty compensation calculations and other model outputs.
- Provides subject matter expertise and serves as the market expert regarding specific provider compensation issues and projects.
- Coordinates the regular review and analysis of operational performance relative to established productivity goals and the impact on compensation.
- Works with Department and Division leadership on the assessment of key compensation metrics and other ad-hoc analyses.
- Helps ensure the accuracy and timely dissemination of operational dashboard reports and other standard management information.
- Provides analytical support for designated compensation special projects as assigned.
- Produces analyses to inform the annual budget planning process, helping to ensure the creation of accurate, realistic, and optimized fiscal year budgets.
- Develops recommendations for strengthening compensation plan.
- Assists stakeholders with the interpretation of compensation plan results, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Maintains accuracy of faculty compensation data utilized by multiple parties.
- Effectively leads and drives complex department-wide compensation projects to ensure the organization’s strategic objectives are achieved.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Direct supervision of assigned staff.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
Preferred Education
Master’s Degree in Business or related area with an emphasis on finance, heath care operations, economics, statistics or mathematics.
Licenses/Certifications
Preferred: CCP
Required Experience
Five (5) years experience with compensation plan analyses, including faculty and/or physician compensation.
Preferred Experience
Experience obtained within Higher Education
Equipment
Use of standard office equipment.
Working Conditions
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Office environment; some travel and weekend work is required. UTRGV is a distributed institution, which requires presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley.

Demonstrated ability to gather, interpret, present and analyze information and ideas in a logical and systematic process. Strong attention to detail with the ability to recognize patterns and issues in sets of data. Strong organizational skills with ability to use good judgment in prioritizing multiple requests made by persons with competing interests. Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work effectively with a broad range of people and as part of a team.
