Director, Corporate Training

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Corporate Training is responsible for the administration and advancement of educational and training programs to the corporate environment, and will serve as a member of the division senior staff.

Executive level staff at HCC are system-wide leaders that share the responsibility to collaboratively support the one-college vision articulated in our strategic plan – Embracing Houston’s Future – with 6 strategic priorities as measurable manifestations of our shared Mission, Vision, and Values.

Responsible for the design, execution and effectiveness of a system of internal controls which provides reasonable assurance that operations are effectives and efficient, assets are safeguarded, financial information is reliable and compliant with applicable law, regulation, policies and procedures.

Manages Talent Engagement activities for direct reports in regards to: recruiting and selection; hiring and termination, training, development, mentoring, counseling, and performance evaluations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develop high-visibility networks in the community by attending business events, association, and community meetings.

Develop strategic partnerships on behalf of Corporate Training (CT) and the College.

Work with the Grants Office to write, deliver and administer training grants through the Texas Workforce Commission.

Responsible for profit and loss (P and L) for corporate training area.

Develop budget for CT as well as benchmarks financial ratios.

Manage budget and works with the Division’s Financial Analyst to produce effective and timely reports.

Coordinate with the Director of the HCC Foundation on equipment donations and other fund-raising opportunities.

Develop CT strategic plan and executes an annual operational plan that drives performance.

Coordinate with HCC instructional design personnel and CT faculty to: (1) develop appropriate student learning outcomes and (2) student-centered pedagogies that acknowledge different learning styles.

Use course and faculty evaluations that provide the opportunity for continuous improvement in educational outcomes.

Responsible for all aspects of business development and account management in CT.

Coordinate with Director of Marketing in the development and execution of a marketing plan that supports CT budget goals.

Coordinate with Director of Operations in the registration and accounts payable processes.

Interact with HCC Workforce Deans to share programming innovations and faculty.

Responsible for the maintenance of any dedicated HCC corporate training facilities, and for the identification of new locations to serve corporate needs.

Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required; Master’s degree preferred
  • 6 years in success work in corporate training, either in a college or business setting; with supervisory experience required
Licensing & Certification

Working Conditions
General Office. Must be able to perform all job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations; remain in a stationary position during shift; move items weighing up to 25 pounds; position self to operate job equipment; apply established protocols in a timely manner. Must access, input and retrieve information from technology devices; communicate with others to accomplish job requirements. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
