Assist with shipping, receiving, and delivery of items from freight companies including processing necessary documents and confirming receipt of such items.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a currently enrolled student and registered for classes
- Must meet all Work Study eligibility requirements through the Financial Aid Office
- Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s license, good driving record, and be insurable on Midland College’s insurance policy
Essential Functions
- Receiving and checking in shipments from various freight companies including FedEx and UPS
- Delivery of shipments to the correct departments on the College campus
- Safely drive a golf cart
- Must follow safety guidelines and utilize proper lifting and carrying techniques
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move or drive to other locations on and off campus
- Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
- Use of manual dexterity
- Capable of climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, and repetitive twisting
- The person in this position frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information
- Frequently moves boxes or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Duties indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
