Join our team as a Staff Assistant for the Military Science Department at the University of Notre Dame, where you will provide essential administrative and clerical support to the Chair and Professor of Military Science (PMS). What You’ll Do:
- Be the Backbone: Offer indispensable administrative and clerical support to the Chair and PMS, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- University Liaison: Act as the primary liaison between the Military Science Department and the wider university community, fostering strong relationships and clear communication.
- Support Our Heroes: Work closely with the PMS and Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (AROTC) faculty, providing the support they need to train and develop future military leaders.
- Autonomy with Guidance: While you’ll receive general instructions and work priorities from your supervisor, you’ll have the autonomy to manage your tasks and make impactful decisions.

Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications and Expectations:
High school diploma or GED & 6-12 months experience

Problem Solving:
- Problems have set solutions clearly defined by policy, guidelines, and/or supervisor.
Policy Responsibility:
- Recommends changes to operating policies and procedures for own unit.
Physical Requirements:
- Specify any physical requirements if applicable.
- Event set up and being on feet for at least 2-3 hours at time.
- Lift up tp 20lbs.
Oversight and Direction:
- Receives clear and specific instructions and/or follows standardized instructions or procedures for most tasks with or without ongoing supervision.
- Work is checked for accuracy, adequacy, and adherence to instructions.
- Employee consults with supervisor on matters not covered in the original instructions or by guidelines.
