The Town of Greybull is seeking a visionary Police Chief to direct the Town of Greybull Police Department and foster strong relationships with the entire community, city government, and outside agencies. Reporting directly to the Town Administrator, the Police Chief is responsible for the overall leadership, culture, performance, and efficiency of the Greybull Police Department. The Chief maintains community and officer safety through progressive policies, training, accountability, and oversight and upholds best practices that align with a modern, progressive police department. The successful candidate easily builds trust and respect with community members, community-based organizations, city leadership, police department staff, and other outside agencies. With high emotional intelligence, the Police Chief is an effective communicator and active listener who values diversity of thought and welcomes new ideas from the department and community.

Duties:

- Oversee all law enforcement activities within the department
- Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures
- Coordinate with other agencies on joint investigations and operations
- Manage budgetary and administrative functions of the department
- Lead and mentor a team of officers and staff
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws
- Handle critical incidents and emergencies effectively

Requirements:

- State of Wyoming Law Enforcement Certification

- 5 years of law enforcement experience

- BA in criminal justice or a related filed preferred but not required

- 3 years of command experience at a supervisory level
- Extensive experience in criminal investigation and law enforcement
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
- Proficient in report writing and documentation
- Ability to drive and maintain a valid driver's license

- Prefer applicant reside within town limits

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 42 per week
