Overview:

NYMC seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Cell Biology and Anatomy. The position will be in the Kwak laboratory to study the general mechanisms of enhancer RNAs and RNA condensates. Candidates with a Ph.D. in cell/molecular biology, genetics/genomics, and/or computational biology are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will develop a research project focused on non-coding genetic variants and mutations in nascent RNA and epigenetic studies using systems biology approaches and CRISPR genome editing methods. The candidate will contribute to the training of research assistants and graduate students and actively participate in lab and department meetings.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and perform experimental strategies for genome editing of target genes and the analysis of genetic models
  • Conduct advanced laboratory research through data analysis and interpretation, troubleshoot problems, and design new research projects
  • Publish in peer-reviewed journals and participate in grant proposal preparations
  • Actively participate in lab and departmental scientific meetings
  • Supervise and train students and lab staffs
Qualifications:
Education requirement: Ph.D. in molecular biology, genetics, genomics, or computational biology
 

Prior experience: 
The candidate must have previous experience in molecular biology, genomics and/or bioinformatics. Preference will be given to candidates familiar with experimental and computational techniques for transcriptomic and epigenomic analyses.
Minimum Salary: USD $61,008.00/Yr. Maximum Salary: USD $61,008.00/Yr.
