Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Guest Services Supervisor, assist all arriving and departing guests using Valet and Bell services. Provide world class services to internal and external guests and provide current information on the resort and amenities. Ensure the safety and security for guest and internal vehicle keys.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Professionally greet and assist arriving guests; open vehicle doors for arriving guests.
  • Maintain traffic flow by directing guests and closing lanes as needed.
  • Maintain security and organization of keys; enter all information into the CVPS software system.
  • Retrieve guest keys ensuring claim number matches number on keys.
  • Assist guests needing help with wheelchairs and luggage using a bell cart when required.
  • Assist the Bellman operation when required by storing luggage, answering the phone and directing the bellman as needed.
  • Maintain proper radio etiquette when paging guests.
  • Dispatch information to transit drivers in a professional manner.
  • Abide by all attendance policies and procedures set forth.
  • Maintain current knowledge of casino and resort amenities.
  • Maintain cleanliness of hotel’s and casino main entrance and driveway with the help of valet attendants.
  • Upsell and suggest the use of the hotel’s outlets and services.
  • Comply with all Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort Safety and Security Policies and Procedures.
  • Report accidents, possible problems, or unusual circumstances involving guests, team members or company assets in an immediate and professional manner to Guest Services Supervisor.
  • Secure guests’ vehicle keys and personal belongings.
  • Report any possible problems or unusual circumstances to the Guest Services Valet Supervisor.
  • Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.

Contacts/Purpose of Contacts:

  • Contact with guests when providing transportation services.
  • Contact with team members and management team of the Guest Service department to maintain communication and assure day to day operations run smoothly.

 


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of valet operations.
  • Skill in maintaining proper storage and safekeeping of keys and valuables.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to operate two way radio.
  • Ability to service guests in a professional appearance and manner.
  • Ability to follow instructions and abide by department, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work as part of a team with a common goal of providing the best guest service possible.
  • Ability to remain positive and be respectful.


Physical Demands:

  • Frequent use of hands, wrists, fingers associated with computer operation.
  • Sit, stoop, kneel or crouch while performing duties.
  • Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; Use arms to reach and lift above shoulders.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to walk or run up to 200 yards without difficulty.
  • Must have normal auditory and good verbal communication.
  • Occasionally lift/push/pull up to 40 pounds.


Work Environment:

  • Frequent walking and standing in a smoking environment and contact with the general public.
  • Must possess sufficient stamina to work under all types of weather conditions including extreme hot/cold and to lift, carry, push, or pull a variety of tools, equipment and materials.
  • Extended hours or irregular shifts may be required.

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • One year hospitality or customer service experience.
  • Must be able to work all shifts including weekends.
  • Must be able to pass background check to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position.


License, Certification, or Special Requirements:

  • Must have a valid State of Michigan Driver’s License, with the proper designation required for the vehicle utilized to perform the job duties, and qualify for coverage by SCIT auto liability insurance carrier. A Tribal Driver’s License will also be required if a Motor Pool Vehicle is used in the course and scope of the required job duties.
  • Native American preference shall apply to all positions.
