Rider University invites applications for the Assistant Director of Housing Operations, who will be a part of the leadership team responsible for a comprehensive Residence Life program encompassing approximately 2,400 beds in over a dozen residential facilities, with a primary focus on managing operations. Primary responsibilities include occupancy management, room and board assignments, room selection, damage billing, strategic marketing and facilities maintenance, and systems management. The Assistant Director additionally provides direct collaborative leadership for fraternity and sorority housing on campus, and serves in a campus-wide on-call capacity for emergency response. This is a live on-campus position.
 
This 12-month position includes a furnished apartment and a full meal plan.  

Position Requirements

    • Master’s Degree
    • Three to five years of full-time Residence Life experience providing direct service to students, staff, parents and university partners. 
    • Must be proficient in the use of student information systems, electronic productivity tools and database management. Those tools specific to Higher Education and Housing Operations are highly desirable. 
    • Must be able to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.  
    • Demonstrated strong math and computational skills.  
    • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.  
    • Demonstrated strong intercultural competency and experience supporting students with diverse identities and backgrounds.
    • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. 
    • Must be able to effectively present information to small and large groups. 
    • Flexibility with work schedule.
    • Satisfactory background and/or DMV checks required 
    • Live on campus position
