Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

We are looking for a driven Post-Doc to contribute to our team's work in advancing gynecologic health. The position is in the Laboratory for Regenerative Tissue Repair within the Department of Surgery at the Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas with a focus on gynecologic health.

As part of the team, you will:

  • Pioneer research in device design and vaginal tissue health;
  • Conduct independent lab research using in vitro and in vivo models to elucidate mechanisms ofvaginal healing;
  • Assess biomechanical properties of vaginal tissue to inform device design, work with computersimulations;
  • Assist in expanding the TMC-wide Vaginal Tissue Biobank;
  • Assist in testing novel devices in women’s health;
  • Contribute to the dissemination of ideation and findings through grants, publications, andconference proceedings;
  • Engage in rigorous and collaborative research focused on device design and testing;

Required:

  • Minimum: PhD in a life sciences field;
  • Previous laboratory work experience with exposure to laboratory procedures, likely including instrumentation, tissue culture, and animal handling;
  • Strong organizational skills, creative thinking, problem solving, initiative-taking;
  • Passion for women’s health, device design, and/or entrepreneurship;

Preferred:

  • Graduate (Phd) research experience;
  • Biomaterials background;
  • Has written a grant before and can jump into grant writing;
