**POSITION IS ELIGIBLE FOR A HYBRID REMOTE TELEWORKING SCHEDULE TO INCLUDE WEEKLY ONSITE WORK HOURS

The Deputy Human Resources Director for Operations position is a key management and leadership role. This position is responsible for leading the Operational Services Teams. Job duties include:

  • Strategic and tactical HR planning for DHR
  • Project management related to DHHS and OSHR initiatives
  • Policy development/ coordination for DHR
  • Technical support on special projects and agency-wide HR issues
Position will lead and manage the following functional areas: Classification & Compensation, Talent Acquisition, Benefits & Wellness, Talent Management, Quality Assurance, and Data Analysis. Other job responsibilities include the following:
  • Support the HR Director in strategic and tactical planning of human resources operations
  • Initiate, develop and facilitate projects and plans to address operational needs ranging in scope from revised HR policies, procedures, and practices affecting HR service delivery
  • Develop the publication of new human resources policies
  • Initiate process improvement and business projects for HR programs
  • Plan, forecast, evaluate and direct the work of assigned functional areas
  • Initiate, develop, facilitate, and plan annual and multi-year projects to address business operations, customer service, continuity of services, process improvements, reporting, and responding to the specific project and operational needs of the department

About the DHHS Division of Human Resources:
The Division of Human Resources is responsible for strategic and tactical human capital management within DHHS including compliance with all federal and state rules and regulations affecting employee relations, recruitment/selection, job evaluation, salary administration, benefits, workers’ compensation, safety, and core staff development.

  • Thorough knowledge of human resources management and administrative principles and techniques as they relate to the administration of a comprehensive HR management organization
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with directors and managers.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, lead and direct the work of others.

Qualified applicants must possess, and application must clearly reflect work experience that demonstrates the following:

Bachelor's degree, typically in Human Resources or related field from an appropriately accredited institution and at least 5 years of experience in human resources, including 3 years of experience in an HR leadership position
OR
equivalent combination or education and experience
