REGISTERED NURSE (Ambulatory Care- Dual Unit- Pediatric GI and Endocrine Clinics)

Responsibilities*

Duties: As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the nurse in this role will provide nursing care to patients and families of the Pediatric GI and Pediatric Endocrine specialties.
The RN supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to assess and meet the needs of the patient and family; plans, implements, and evaluates patient care; teaches patients and caregivers; orients colleagues and peers; and provides support to the pediatric GI and Endocrine medical faculty and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
Telephone triage, patient education, injections will be a function for this position for patients, families, clinicians and other healthcare team members. Collaborate with other health team members and associated resource persons to provide continuity of care.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all team members to improve patient outcomes. Active participation in quality improvement initiatives.

Candidate must be able to function with minimal supervision and be highly motivated to provide excellent care and patient advocacy.
Candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellent critical thinking skills relative to assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation 
Candidate will be expected to demonstrate their ability to organize and manage multiple interventions simultaneously
Candidate will be expected to demonstrate their ability to problem solve in a collaborative manner  
Candidate will be expected to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.  
Candidate will be expected to demonstrate their ability to function competently with the electronic medical record and other technological applications.

Hourly range for Registered Nurses $40.18-$62.31/ hour


   Evening Shift Differential-$3.00 / hour
   Night Shift Differential- $4.00 / hour
   Day Shift Weekend Differential- $2.90 / hour
    Evening Shift Weekend Differential- $5.90 / hour
    Night Shift Weekend Differential- $6.90 / hour
    Charge Nurse Differential- $1.00 / hour

Salary & Nursing Framework Level:
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.

Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position.

Required Qualifications*

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse to practice in the State of Michigan.

Minimum of three years  (within the past 5 years) RN experience within the pediatric population in either an inpatient or outpatient setting

Desired Qualifications*

Experience as an RN with pediatric GI population

Experience as an RN within pediatric Endocrine population

Recent (within the past 5 years) ambulatory care experience

Professional nursing certification 

BSN

Work Schedule

Hours: 40 hours per week 
Days: Day shift; Monday through Friday
Location: C.S. Mott Children's Hospital- Pediatric Endocrine and GI Clinics 

Dual unit with Pediatric Endocrine and GI Clinics

**Dual Unit Information**
Home Unit will be Pediatric Endocrine Clinic.
The RN may need to float to either unit during a scheduling period based on either of the units staffing needs.
Holidays and PTO will be determined from the home unit 

Note: All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.

Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.

Background Screening
