Job Summary

As the Learning & Development Specialist, you'll foster an environment where continuous learning, innovation, and growth thrive. You'll oversee the entire lifecycle of professional development initiatives for Administrative, Professional, Technical (APT), and Classified Staff, including planning, designing, coordination, facilitation, and evaluation. Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement leadership programs at ACC aimed at developing both current and future leaders. In this pivotal new role, and with an organizational effectiveness mindset, you will strengthen the ACC talent bench by leveraging these key characteristics:
  • Solutions & results oriented: achieving tangible outcomes and delivering effective solutions to address organizational learning needs.
  • Creative & innovative: think creatively, leverage emerging technologies, customize learning solutions, and push the boundaries of traditional training approaches to drive impactful learning outcomes.
  • Collaborative communicator: engaging with stakeholders, facilitating dialogue, and fostering a collaborative learning environment where all participants feel valued and empowered to grow.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Human Resources, Business Management, Training, Organization Development, Adult Education, Instructional Design or related. Equivalent professional experience, year for year, may substitute for the degree.
  • Two (2) years professional experience in organizational development, training, or adult education that includes designing, developing, and/or delivering training and development activities. A master’s degree in a training/learning and development area of study will substitute for the required experience.
  • Solid facilitation and presentation skills; able to engage audiences on various topics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in from an accredited institution in Human Resources, Business Management, Training, Organization Development, Adult Education, Instructional Design or related.
  • Previous role in Learning and Development role in higher education or other industry.

Physical & Cognitive Demands

The following are some of the physical and cognitive demands commonly associated with this position.

  • Occasionally moves, positions, and transports files, office equipment, and presentation materials weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • This is primarily a sedentary office position although sufficient mobility is required to deliver presentations at various locations.
  • The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.
  • May be required to work out of any ACC campus location. Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required.

Campus Security Authority

This position has been identified by the Department of Education and Arapahoe Community College as a Campus Security Authority (CSA). As a CSA, the incumbent in this position is required to report crimes they become aware of immediately to the ACC Campus Police Department.

Advertised Salary Range

Salary range for this position is $66,676 - $74,678, commensurate with education and experience. AP 3-45 provides information regarding salary placement and adjustments. This is a full-time, FLSA-exempt position. This position has been exempted from the State Classified System.
