The Center for Family and Community Engagement is a public service and research center at North Carolina State University. The Center fosters family-community- academic partnerships that are relevant and responsive to families and communities. The Center builds these partnerships by supporting community engagement, offering training and technical assistance, and providing evaluation and research services. The Center works with interdisciplinary partners on the local, national, and global levels to improve family and community health and well-being. The website for the Center is go.ncsu.edu/cface.

Essential Job Duties

Job duties include:
  • Work to create, revise, and/or reconstruct existing learning/training content to shape it for the needs of the learning audience
  • Provide training and technical support via synchronous online training hosted in Zoom
  • Provide design and writing support for the creation of learning/training modules, assessments, surveys, and other online or in-person course content as directed.
  • Ensure content and style consistency; double-check content for missing information as outlined by needs of funder and course content requirements (i.e. policy, research, resources)
  • Conduct editorial review of courses including basic proofreading, formatting, university and funder branding compliance, etc
  • Support and maintain courses developed in learning management systems (such as Moodle)
  • Monitor and manage communication and support to learners through email and learning management system (Moodle)
  • Conduct quality assurance testing
  • Manage and update social media, website pages—tasks include authoring articles,
    creating posts, and creating bi-monthly newsletter
  • Remain current with and have a thorough understanding of technology tools and
    trends in online and in-person adult education
  • Design and develop communication material through the use of Canva, LucidChart, Visio, Adobe Suite and Mail Chimp
  • Engage in the search for further training, adult learning online and in person
    opportunities for the Center
  • Assists with onboarding and training student interns
  • Provides editorial assistance for annual reports and grant writing, as well as other
    internal communication when necessary

Please note that this is a time limited position and is contingent on funding being renewed each year based on the contract.

Other Responsibilities

Minimum Experience/Education

Bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Other Required Qualifications

  • Ability to edit content and check for style consistency
  • Strong organization and project management skills
  • Experience working in learning management systems such as Moodle
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Understanding of adult learning theories demonstrated in creation of effective course materials and learning assessments
  • Knowledge of online course development
  • Background working with photo/image/video editing software (Adobe Suite)
  • Experience developing adult learning courses
  • Experience working with faculty
  • Basic knowledge of HTML
  • Experience delivering/facilitation of online, in person learning events
