Job Description

The University of Notre Dame Enterprises and Events (UEE) division is currently hiring for the position of Operations Specialist with Three Leaf Catering by Notre Dame.

The Operations Specialist reports to the Director of Culinary Operations and Events and is responsible for contributing to the overall success of events. In addition, this position acts as a catalyst between Operations and Event Specialists.

Responsibilities include:
  • Attending weekly Banquet Event Order (BEO) meetings and representing Catering Operations.
  • Assisting in day-to-day event operations in the areas of guest satisfaction, safety, checking equipment onsite, troubleshooting, training, excise permits, and implementing service standards
  • Partaking in event planning, execution and post-con audits
  • Working hand in hand with other Catering Operations Specialists in ensuring a seamless event experience for guests and team members through active listening and communication
  • Managing trucking and distributing products for the Center for Culinary Excellence, Three Leaf Catering, Legends Restaurant, Campus Cafés and Morris Inn operations.
  • Ensuring the right products are delivered to the correct location on time and at a prescribed cost
  • Responsibility for all aspects of the warehouse operations, including but not limited to receiving, quality assurance, inventory management, outbound delivery, and health and safety regulations
  • Supervising and responsibility for the drivers’ performance, service associates, and managing the fleet of vehicles and operators
  • Working closely with the management of the Center for Culinary Excellence and the culinary teams to execute events and complete operational requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates degree or up to 3 years of college or technical school
  • 3 to 4 years experience
  • Advanced MS Office skills required.
  • Ability to adapt and learn new or different systems is essential.
  • Work in a fast paced environment and have the ability to stand for up to 12 hours and lift 50lbs.
  • Flexibility to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and as needed on holidays observed by the University is required.
  • Obtain Indiana Bartenders Permit and ServeSafe Certification within 90 days of hire.
