We are seeking a dedicated, hardworking, team individual to supervise the Enterprise Moves Section. As a member of our team, you will contribute to APL’s success by ensuring the facility and item moves, conference room setups/ tear downs and the surplus processes are completed using industry leading practices and in accordance with set guidelines. The vision for this function is to ensure APL’s staff and items are moved in a timely and safe manner. As an Enterprise Moves Section Supervisor...
- Your primary responsibility will be to provide leadership to ensure APL property is moved in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with APL and industry/government best practice and guidelines.
- Ensure the section has the appropriate resources, facilities, equipment, and analytical tools needed to meet its mission. You will ensure the section is at the correct
staffing level and staff is aligned in the structure. - You will follow APL's Guideline and policies associated with move management and surplus property
- You will support staff development and coach staff as necessary, including receiving partner feedback throughout the year and empower staff to create a culture that embraces excellence, problem solving, diversity of thought, inclusion, and continual improvement
- You will draft personnel requisitions interview candidates and collaborate on the hiring decisions, fostering innovation ensuring administrative knowledge is exchanged within and beyond the function. In addition, you will provide performance coaching and input for the salary review process
- You will work collaboratively across the Department and Lab to foster partnering to maximize the impact to the organization and assist in creating a climate conducive to creativity, collaboration, diversity of ideas and respect for others.
Qualifications
You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you ...
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field; or equivalent knowledge in the movement of materials and equipment.
- Have 6+ years of success in leading and managing staff.
- Experience with move management and surplus property OR proven leadership skills in logistics
- Strong communication skills working with vendors
- Have the ability to think strategically and lead change while working in a practical manner to ensure that change is delivered in a sustainable way.
- Can motivate, mentor, develop, and inspire staff.
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate strong relationships across organizational boundaries.
- Can set direction and implement plans to achieve goals and build capabilities including the pursuit of new initiatives.
- Possess unquestionable integrity with exceptional communication skills and ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff.
- Can track record of excellent judgment and discretion.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skill within a team environment.
- Are able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Secret level clearance. If selected you will be subjected to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
- Have knowledge/experience with MS office suite products (Work, Excel and Outlook).

- Have knowledge of and solid understanding of Tririga's Move Management.
- Have knowledge/experience with GSA asset management/property disposal
- Have successfully led a relocation project involving at least 250 staff with its associated equipment and furniture.
