This position will be doing phone triage with UC San Diego Health Community Care/Primary Care patients in our growing patient-centered Care Navigation Hub. Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge.
The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMust be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
RN License issued by the State of California.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Must have a minimum of 2 (two) years of active nursing experience.
Recent primary care, emergency room, and/or urgent care RN experience.
Must have phone triage experience.
Ability to perform triage and handle critical and/or urgent situations with accuracy, expediency and speed, accuracy and tact.
- BSN.
- ACLS and/or ART.
- Ambulatory Care experience.
- Schmitt and Thompson protocol usage.
- UCSD primary care experience.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
- Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and various locations based on business needs.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $123,902 - $173,659 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $59.34 - $83.17
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
