We are looking for an experienced Data Manager to join our team! As a Data Manager, you'll develop, modify, and perform data analysis and archiving using PostgreSQL and other database platforms, and investigate solutions to complex technical problems. You'll assess architecture and hardware limitations, plan technical projects in the design and development of data archiving systems and provide guidance to less experienced staff.
A Data Manager at NV5 also assists with analyzing, developing, and implementing the physical database design in support of client requirements. Performs the maintenance of database dictionaries. Monitors standards and procedures, access methods and time, validation checks and organizational and statistical methods. Reviews, evaluates, designs, implements, and maintains databases. Helps identify data sources, construct data decomposition diagrams, and document the process. Manages/supports database access, modifications and construction including SQL and Python Scripts. Collaborates on tough problems and questions with other project leaders.

- Adept at database design, queries, and report writing and capable to present findings/solutions clearly in person and/or writing
- Proactively identify and communicate issues, risks, and progress to customer, contractor team, and IT stakeholders, providing options and next steps
- Collaborate and partner with the project technical team and clients to develop and refine analytic approaches
- Provide database and systems administration support for software deployment operations, data loading, migration, and conversion, and other critical production operations support activities as required
- Plan, coordinate, analyze, design, construct, and implement new functionality and modifications to various databases to enhance and support business processes and meet information needs
- Provide analytics support by designing and implementing methodologies to derive insights from a combination of unstructured, semi-structured, and structured data and data sources (e.g. Data Lakes)
- Monitors Database Performance and evaluates/executes conversion routines/scripts and verifies successful completion
- Evaluate existing data and processes and develop and execute action plans for integration into enterprise capability
- Scale methodologies from pilot, to project, to recurring programs over large geographic areas
- Provide reviews and comments on processes, guidelines, standards, and blueprints in support of the data management program
- Support data architecture design that maximizes use of data and components, including geospatial data architecture
- Work with and integrate geospatial and remotely sensed data of various formats into machine learning models.

Requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Geography/GIS, Science, Engineering or related field*
- 3+ years proven work experience as a Database Administrator**
- Security+ CE (included in onboarding and training if you do not have active certification)
- Experience managing Oracle and Postgres in a cloud environment, to include AWS RDS and Azure
- Advanced knowledge of Esri software, with special emphasis on ArcGIS server and Portal Extension
- Experience with Navy IGI&S a plus
- U.S. Citizenship is required

Experience/Skills Preferred (in addition to requirements):
- Experience supporting Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities to include documentation and resolving database-related STIG findings
