Job Summary

A productive physician-scientist in the Department of Internal Medicine Division of General Medicine seeks a full-time Research Area Specialist to join an exciting and growing research team including physicians, biostatisticians, sociologists, and other health services researchers. This position offers a flexible work schedule and the ability to work a hybrid schedule or fully remote with occasional on-site in-person meetings. Our office is located at the North Campus Research Complex (NCRC) in Ann Arbor, MI. In-person responsibilities will largely consist of coordination of in-person recruitment and training of staff during the start of trials, but will otherwise be remote.

The research studies that we will focus includes collaborators who are engaged in innovative health services research to help design ways to mitigate stigma and increase access to evidence-based treatments for individuals with substance use disorders and chronic pain.  The selected candidate will support the physician-scientist and other project managers in preparing grants, conducting research projects, and coordinating core activities funded under this program. The funded projects currently range from developing mobile interventions to increase engagement amongst families and caregivers of those affected by opioid use disorder, large database observational studies comparing the effectiveness of different treatments, and implementation and evaluation of collaborative care models for high quality pain and addiction treatment.  This position would be ideal for someone seeking to grow in a managerial capacity and also gain independence in a variety of health services research methods.  The physician-scientist lead and collaborators are very committed to mentorship and growth.

Background Screening
