Renton Technical College seeks a passionate Adjunct Baking Instructor to join our Professional Baking program. In this part-time role, you will provide comprehensive instruction in various baking subjects, fostering an equitable and inclusive learning environment for our diverse student population. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis as needs arise within each department. Deans will evaluate applications periodically and contact candidates as adjunct positions become available. Our professional-technical certificate and degree programs offer entry and mid-level training in the areas of allied health, trades and industry, culinary, business, technology, and automotive. Our outstanding college & career pathways program with classes in adult basic education, English as a second language, and GED preparation is available to those who need additional preparation before entering a training program and for those who simply wish to improve their math and English skills. Career Education and apprenticeships degrees round out our offerings. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Provide leadership in working to improve access and successful educational outcomes from diverse student populations especially underrepresented and underserved student populations.Demonstrating multicultural competence (including an awareness and understanding of historically disadvantaged populations) and creating an educational environment that affirms commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.Minimum of 2 years of recent professional experience in the baking industry.Extensive knowledge of baking theory, techniques, food safety, and sanitation principles.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with a diverse student body.Ability to obtain a food handler's permit and CPR/First Aid certification.Passion for teaching and fostering student growth in the baking field.

 
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
In the interest of providing a healthy, safe and secure educational and work environment, and in order to meet the requirements of federal legislation, it is the policy of Renton Technical College to maintain an alcohol and drug-free workplace for our employees and students.This is an adjunct faculty position contracted on a quarterly basis. Lecture (theory) credits are compensated at $1038 per credit (for 2024-2025), which includes scheduled class time and final exam days. Future advancement in base salary, up to the current maximum of $1,143 per credit, is based upon a combination of years of service accrued at our college and professional development activity. Degree Stipend: Master’s or Doctorate degree stipends are paid on a prorated per credit rate quarterly.Quarterly Master's stipend: $1,204Quarterly Doctorate stipend: $2,049 Please see Terms of Employment for further compensation details (Download PDF reader) (Please note this is pending current RTF negotiations.) All offers of employment are contingent to background checks, including employment and required degree/credential verification.
