Among our non-degree programs, we offer Executive Education and graduate certificates.

The college houses six initiatives fostering research, learning, and corporate engagement: Business Analytics Initiative, Business Sustainability Collaborative, Enterprise Risk Management Initiative, Entrepreneurship Clinic, Entrepreneurship Collaborative, and Supply Chain Resource Cooperative. Essential Job Duties

The Poole College of Management seeks a dynamic Director of Career Services to lead our team in facilitating job placement for undergraduate and graduate students in full-time roles and internships. The Director will be responsible for creating and executing strategies to achieve these placement objectives. This role involves leading the career services staff, managing the unit’s budget, and representing the Career Center and the College on various boards and stakeholder groups. Additionally, the Director will collaborate with other university units and communicate student skills, experiences, and outcomes to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Strategy: Develop and implement strategies to achieve job placement goals for students. Lead and manage the career services staff.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the budget for the career services unit.
  • Representation and Liaison: Represent the Career Center on relevant boards and stakeholder groups. Liaise with other university units to align career services with college objectives.
  • Event Oversight: Manage and oversee career-related events such as employer events, career fairs, mentor programs, and information sessions to ensure they effectively support the center’s goals.
  • Corporate Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for corporate entities looking to recruit Poole College students. Foster relationships with corporations to create high-impact experiences and opportunities for students.
  • Curriculum Input: Provide input to curriculum committees based on industry trends and employer feedback.
  • Data Management: Oversee the collection and reporting of data on student outcomes and employment trends for internal strategy, external rankings, and reporting.
  • Alumni Support: Collaborate with the Associate Dean for Academic Programs to support alumni career services and activities.
  • Technology Evaluation: Assess and implement technologies that can enhance career outcomes, working with stakeholders to integrate these solutions where appropriate.

We are looking for a strategic and collaborative leader who is passionate about student success and ready to drive the career services at Poole College of Management to new heights. The Director of MBA Career Services will be expected to leverage existing college and university relationships as well as to create relationships with organizations that currently do not recruit our students.

Other Responsibilities

  • Event Participation: Actively engage in Career Center and Poole College events, with occasional weekend and evening commitments.
  • Work Environment: This position requires substantial on-campus presence with some remote work flexibility.
  • Travel: Travel is required for conferences and employer visits to maintain and build recruitment relationships.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • MBA or MA in a business-related field, or bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of professional work experience in the private sector, experience in working in one or more fields that employs MBA’s.

Other Required Qualifications

  • Supervisory skills of a highly dynamic, multi-functional team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Master’s Degree in a business-related field (MBA, Masters of Management) is highly preferred.
  • 6 years or more experience in the business world that is related to hiring/training/coaching college graduates and/or roles that involve interacting with corporate partners in that capacity.
  • A track record of innovation, especially of creating a large impact with high ROI.
  • A demonstrated record of exceptional performance in career placement of undergraduate students.
  • A demonstrated record of exceptional performance in career placement of graduate business students from multiple programs.
  • Strong experience of working with working professionals with multiple years of work experience.
