Job Summary:
Reporting to the Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Director of Dual Enrollment and Partnerships will play a crucial role in enhancing the educational pathways between Cowley College and its secondary school partners. This position will serve as the responsible party with oversite of all matters pertaining to concurrent and dual enrollment and high school partnerships, working with Cowley College stakeholders to foster a supportive and interconnected education community.

Position Duties:
  • Establish Dual Enrollment Program guidelines – including admissions & assessment standards to ensure all State and National program guidelines are met.
  • Establish data standards for recording and reporting student, course and program information within the registration system.
  • Communicate program guidelines to essential parties.
  • Develop and maintain partnership agreements with secondary schools.
  • Maintain up-to-date program information on the Cowley website in conjunction with Marketing.
  • Identify program, course, and student needs with secondary partners.
  • Develop course schedules to accommodate program and student needs in collaboration with Academic Affairs.
  • Serve as primary contact and communication liaison to secondary schools regarding academic and technical partnership opportunities and provide feedback on student performance.
  • Outline and renew articulation agreements with secondary schools in collaboration with Academic Affairs.
  • Communicate essential concurrent enrollment/secondary partnership information to Enrollment Management department and others as needed, including Marketing.
  • Assist in the marketing/promotion of available courses and programs to potential High School students including costs associated.
  • Provide orientation and oversite of Concurrent Enrollment Partnership (CEP) instructors and classes in collaboration with academic departments.
  • Verify faculty credentials of CEP instructors meet HLC guidelines and individual files are up-to-date.
  • Assist with validating Institutional, State and National reporting as needed.
  • Collaborate with Admissions department to complete admissions and assessment procedures.
  • Work with Enrollment Management to ensure a concurrent student handbook is updated and accurate each year.
  • Plan and provide student orientation in collaboration with Admissions/Enrollment Management.
  • Assist students with outlining their degree plan and semester enrollment in collaboration with Enrollment Management.
  • Stay current on State policies and initiatives pertaining to dual enrollment.
  • Serve as College representative on South Central Kansas Distance Learning Network (SCKDLN) consortium.
  • Attend State meetings applicable to dual enrollment.
  • Provide necessary data for reports required for funding and other State and institutional reports.
  • Maintain courteous, professional and effective working relationships with employee, vendors and/or other representatives of external organizations.
  • Comply with all College policies and procedures.
  • Assist the Academic Affairs administration by performing other related duties as assigned.

Required Education Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree preferred).

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the field of education, business and industry, nonprofit management, or other relevant field.
  • Working knowledge of dual enrollment.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Educational Federal and State laws, rules and regulations.
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of students.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively across various stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent problem solving, computer, written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to travel between campuses as well as the region.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Five (5) years’ experience in post-secondary educational setting with an understanding of both K-12 and college systems, especially two-year colleges, and transfer/articulation agreements.
  • Experience with Kansas community colleges or Kansas Department of Education.
  • Experience working with dual enrollment and/or concurrent education programs.
  • An understanding of and commitment to serving the needs of first-year students.
  • Experience in working with undergraduate education, including first-year students.


Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time; ability to move freely around the campus and outreach centers; ability to lift up to 20 pounds; ability to bend, stoop, reach and grasp as required to perform responsibilities; ability to drive motor vehicle; and ability to work on the computer for long periods of time.

Work Environment:
Work performed in an office environment, classroom, and throughout the main campus and outreach centers. In addition, some work will be completed throughout the College service community at community functions and events.
