Damage Control (DC) Firefighting Contractor Instructor

Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Damage Control (DC) Firefighting Contractor Instructor who will be a key support to Surface Warfare Schools Command (SWSC) in San Diego, CA.

Job Description:

The DC Instructor will support SWSC and providing instruction, operation, testing, remediation, curriculum support (includes updates and maintenance of curriculum), administration, safety, and management support services for formalized naval training. As a DC Instructor, primary responsibilities include technical and military training, involving instructor services and remediation for DOD personnel, including Navy and Allied Forces officer and enlisted personnel, temporarily assigned to SWSC San Diego, CA for training.

Qualifications:
The Damage Control Firefighting Contractor Instructor must have the following experience:

Graduate of the Navy Instructor Training Course (CIN: A-012-0077) (NEC 9502) OR equivalent instructor training course.
A minimum of three (3) years technical experience in the subject matter hired to instruct.
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a Military Training Environment.
Knowledge of learning principles, practices, and methods of presentation and delivery of course content, testing and remediation procedures, curriculum, training aids,
devices, electronic podiums, TTE, lab equipment, equipment operation and maintenance procedures associated with the course.
Have comprehensive knowledge in the area of safety, shipboard and aircraft fire fighting procedures, and shipboard damage control procedures.
Must be a former Senior (E5 - E9) Surface Ship Damage Controlman or similar rating.
A graduate of at least seven (7) of the following courses:

General Shipboard Fire Fighting Training - Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) (A-495-0416)
Shipboard Fire Fighting Integrated Team Trainer (A-495-0018)
Shipboard Firefighting / Damage Control Emergency Team Member (A-495-0021)
Shipboard Aircraft Fire Fighting (J-495-0413)
Air Capable Ship Helicopter Fire Fighting (J-495-0414)
Advanced Shipboard Fire Fighting (J-495-0419)
Damage Control Repair Party Team Leader (K-495-0040)
Shipboard Damage Control Team Trainer (K-495-0045)
Damage Control Petty Officer (K-495-0440)
AFFF foam generation (K-495-2179)
Gas Free Engineering (K-495-0051)

Desired Qualifications:

Navy Damage Controlman (CPO preferred) or Engineering Department Leader (EN, GS, EM, etc.)
9502 Basic Instructor NEC or ATG experience
Shipboard firefighting experience
Current Basic EMT qualification, or higher

Security Requirements:

Must have an Active DoD Secret security clearance and be able to maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
Must have a CAC card and maintain a CAC card.
Must be able to complete Current Tier 3 background investigation (Secret), and enrolled in Continuous Evaluation.

Travel Requirements:

Occasional travel- up to 10%
If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:

Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
Communicating with others to exchange information.
Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds
